The Purifying Cleanser uses oil-soluble properties of salicylic acid to dissolve and remove excess oil and dead skin cells – and completely rid the skin of dirt and debris inside the follicle wall. Glycolic and lactic acids additionally create a synergistic exfoliation experience, for serious deep pore cleansing and anti-aging.
Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid, as such, it is a very effective chemical peeling agent. It efficiently exfoliates the skin without any tissue damage and eats away at dirty and debris within the pores.
Lactic Acid is an excellent alpha-hydroxy acid that usually occurs in sour milk but is also found in molasses due to the partial conversion of sugars in apples and other fruits. With a natural affinity to the skin, it’s also very effective at exfoliating and softening the surface. Lactic acid is known to exfoliate, yet hydrate.
Glycolic acid occurs naturally as a trace component in sugarcane, grapes and other fruits. As the first in the alpha-hydroxy carboxylic acids, it is one of the smallest molecules with acid functionality, which easily penetrates the skin. Glycolic Acid is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid, producing mitosis of keratinocytes (new cell growth).
